Charles Wolff Fine Keyboard Instruments

Have your piano tuned and sounding beautiful for the holidays by “a minor key” and Charles Wolff. Now that the weather is changing and the heat is coming on in the the house, your piano may begin to sound slightly out of tune. The humidity of summer will be changing to the cool dry air of winter and with our central heating systems beginning to come on as it gets colder, the drying out of the wood and felt in your piano is the natural result. This seasonal change will contract the soundboard and wood components ever so slightly and play havoc with your tuning.

Ideally, the home piano should be tuned at least twice a year as the two major seasons change. Air conditioning in summer and humidification in winter will reduce the seasonal change and make life more comfortable for both you and the piano. This keeps the piano structure and tuning more stable and keeps it sounding as it should.

Give me a call to schedule your tuning now and have it sounding great for the holiday parties and sing alongs!
